**-- and a discussion of why and when young fynbos speak fynsk today. **
Author and PhD student, Kirstine Boas, will try to answer why, when and how young Fynans (still) speak Fynesian, when they might as well not.
Kirstine will talk about her research on the use of Fynsk by young Fynesian residents in their identity constructions and about some of the ways in which people work experimentally with dialect research today, and tell about results from some of the new studies that have been made on the perception of the Funen dialect.
The presentation will be framed around Kirstine's ABC on fynsk written by Kirstine. A book to be launched at the Language Festival. A book of 29 alphabet rhymes with the finest illustrations. Among other things, you can meet the smartest woman in Funen, the balladeer Bent who goes after robbing me, the untimely Ulrik, the beautiful Leif and many, many more. Among other things, Kirstine will talk about the process of writing several of the strips, and what hopes she has for what ABC can contribute.
Everyone is welcome to ask questions and there will be time for a discussion of both Kirstine's research and the ABC at the end, where illustrator Rasmus Damsgaard will also be present.
