'Bound on mouth and hand' is a musical lecture that sheds a new and nuanced light on the various forms of artistic expression during the German occupation of Denmark. The lecture performance is an immersive combination of songs, personal narratives and the big brush strokes.
Get the story and enjoy the tones of the occupation. Actor Morten Hemmingsen and writer Simon Ankjærgaard take you on a multi-voiced journey through the five dark years.
Through the anthems, the censorship of Nazism, the free space of the revues, the looseness of jazz and the poetry of the resistance struggle, the audience gets a new look at the role of music and art during the war.
The lecture performance binds words, tones and texts together in a completely new interpretation and communication of the history of Denmark's occupation. It is thus a unique format that blends the best elements from lecture, narrative, concert and theatre.
