Colors, shapes and the freedom to think differently — an evening focused on Verner Panton

There are places that take on special significance in the story of a human being. For Verner Panton, the area at Langesø is one of them.

Here some of the first ideas took shape with the young designer, who would later become one of the most prominent figures in international design history. Now the audience is invited to a special Verner Panton evening at Langesø Castle with music, local stories and lectures about his importance for modern Danish and international design.

The evening begins with music by Brdr. Schaldemose, who also played at Kom Igen Kroen during the years when the venue was part of Verner Panton's history. Afterwards, chamberlain and estate manager Ditlev Berner tells about the relationship between Verner Panton and Langesø.

The main lecture of the evening will be held by architect MAA and gallerist Marie-Louise Höstbo. She focuses on Verner Panton's importance to contemporary Danish and international design, his role as one of modernism's most visionary figures and on how his work with colours, shapes and spaces continues to inspire designers and architects around the world.

An evening of design history, local stories and new perspectives on the importance of Verner Panton — both in Nordfyn and in international design culture.

The event is part of Nordfyns Kommune's celebration of the centenary of Verner Panton in 2026. Throughout the year, the focus is on the designer, the man and the North Funen roots that helped shape his life and work.

The celebration is organized by the Arts Committee of the Municipality of Nordfyn with the support of the Municipality of Nordfyns and the Cultural Region of Funen.
